Matters in which Jonathan Brettler has recently acted include: successfully defending a major insurer in litigation concerning a joint venture for the sale of its products; successfully challenging jurisdiction in arbitral proceedings relating to an oil extraction joint venture; representing the Secretary of State at trials of contested public interest winding up and disqualification proceedings; advising on whether arrangements constitute collective investment schemes; advising on schemes of arrangement for the estimation of insurance liabilities and for changing the jurisdiction of a group holding company; advising on allegations of misconduct in local government by the Standards Board for England.
