Eleanor joined Chambers in October 2011, following successful completion of pupillage. As a pupil, Eleanor gained practical experience across the range of Chambers' practice areas, and she intends to develop a broad commercial Chancery practice.
During Michaelmas Term 2011, Eleanor was Judicial Assistant to Lord Justice Rix.
Since her return to Chambers, Eleanor has appeared for the Financial Services Authority (with Jonathan Crow QC) in judicial review proceedings, and has assisted George Bompas QC in the drafting of advice to solicitors concerning liability potentially arising from a proposed transaction. Eleanor has appeared in court in connection with winding up proceedings, to resist an application to set aside default judgment and to apply for variation of a freezing order. Eleanor has experience of drafting documents for litigation and in non-contentious matters. She has also advised, on a pro bono basis, in connection with bankruptcy and IVAs.
